Q: How do I get the BYF 7.1 chat room program?

A: You can get the free chat room program on the front page of www.bringyourfont.com or directly at www.bringyourfont.com/byf.exe .

Q: I am getting corrupt file errors when I try to install the BYF 7.1 program is there something wrong?

A: If you are using vista, download the byf file to your desktop then right click the file then click "properties", then click "compatable" then select "run as xp", then install the software.

Q: How do I navigate to other lobbies?

A: To navigate in the BYF 7.1 chat client simply click the arrow key next to the create button for a complete list of lobbies to choose from. Simply click the free chat room lobby of your choice.

Q: Do I have to pay for the games or the chat rooms?

A: NO! We offer free games and chat rooms to everyone.

Q: How do I change my font color?

A: To change font colors click one of the color boxes above the chat input area.

Q: How do I change my color in the user list?

A: You can only change your name in the user list just left click their names. All members can left click their names then select the change color options.

Q: How can I put a icon next to my name?

A: Yes

Q: How do I play flash games?

A: To play flash games navigate to one of our game lobbies and click a chat room of your choice. Each chat room will have a list of fun games for you to choose from.

Q: How do I play multiplayer games?

A: To play multiplayer games simply visit the multiplayer game lobby and choose a room. Some multiplayer games like spades and dominoes have their own lobby. Simply click the "create" button in those lobbies to launch the chat room with that game.

Q: Can I play the same games in the chat client as I can on the main site page?

A: Yes all the games are on the main site as well as in the chat client but the game screen is bigger in the chat client and if you play on the main site you can't chat in a live chat room with your friends while playing.

Q: How do I report an abusive user?

A: You can page a admin or send a email to support@bringyourfont.com

Q: Can I change the looks of my chat room program?

A: Yes! To change the looks of your chat room program click the "services" tab in the upper right corner of your screen then select "skin editor". You can completely customize the look of your screen including uploading a custom pic.

Q: I totally messed up my screen playing with the skin editor option can I fix this?

A: Yes! To set your screen back to its original look simply select the "default skin" in the skin editor options.

Q: Why do some of the multiplayer games ask me to make a user name when I already have one here?

A: You are asked for a user name 1 time on the multiplayer games because you are connecting to a 3rd party server. This allows you to not only play games with our users but users at many other sites.

Q: Can I block unwanted chat?

A: Yes! To block unwanted chat simply left click the users name you wish not to see and select "ignore". This not only blocks the users chat but it also remove the users name from your screen. Now that's the ultimate mute!

Q: I want to unmute a user how can I do this?

A: To remove a user from your ignore list click the services icon in the upper right corner then select "ignore list". Select the users name you wish to remove then select delete.

Q: I removed a user from my ignore list and I can see them typing but I can't see their name. What's up with that?

A: You will not be able to see the user that you recently deleted from the ignore list until that user logs off and back on. Yes it's the mother of all mutes!

Q: Can I make a private room and lock it?

A: Yes! To create a private room click the create button and make sure you add a password.

Q: How to I join a chat room?

A: To join a room double click the chat room or select the room then click "Rooms" at the top right corner of the page then select "join room".

Q: I received a file where did it go?

A: The default location for file transfers is  C:\Program Files\BYF 7.1\Data\Rifles\ .

Q: Can I send someone a private message?

A: Yes. To send someone  a private message left click the users name then click "send message".

Q: How do I add my friends to my buddy list?

A: To add your friends to your buddy list left click their name then select "add to buddy list"

Q: Some of the games say I need shockwave. Where can I get that?

A:  To play some of the games here you will need to update your shockwave. You can get that free at http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi . This is a one time download and once you have it updated you wont need to download it again.
